Change My ISP
Have you thought to yourself – I am going to change my ISP? I had similar thoughts recently and in the end decided I was going to change my ISP. Broadband providers are very competitive at the minute, so I decided now was the right time to change my ISP. They are some great deals around. Many ISPs will offer better packages than they have in the past. This is very good for me when I am looking to change my ISP as it means I can get a much better deal than I had previously.
When I had decided I wanted to change my ISP the first thing I had to check was if I was in a fixed term contract with my current ADSL provider. Luckily for me I wasn’t but you should check too. When I had made the choice on my new ISP I had to inform my current ISP and request my MAC code. This is what allows the new ISP to set you up on their network.
During the process of changing my ISP the hardest part was which ISP I should move to. You should be check what speed they can offer you and how much you will be able to download. Remember that the maximum speed will be the lower of the ISPs advertised speed and the maximum speed your line can handle. This is different for everyone. Another thing I had to be careful of when I planned to change my ISP was if the new ISP was an LLU ISP. This means they use their own equipment at the local exchange and can result in a fee when you choose to leave.
